Hello, one of the 5 "dingos" here who upvoted WD's post.
First, chill bro.

I agree with you it's annoying when people use "they" or "them" for political correctness reasons. I hate that. Like you, I would only use "they" or "them" in the plural sense, or when I truly don't know if the person I'm referring to is male or female. (Example: say I get an email from someone I don't know named "Leslie"... is that a girl Leslie or a boy Leslie? I'm not sure who
they are.)
On the other hand, you have to admit, it's pretty funny when you see people getting their grammar corrected. That's why I upvoted.
I would point out that:
1) Sentences should begin with a capital letter.
2) Sentences should end with either a period, a single question mark, or an exclamation point.
3) "Its" is the possessive form of "it", e.g. his/hers/its. What you probably meant to use was "it's" (with the apostrophe), which is the contraction of "it is", i.e. "because it is plural", but actually even this is wrong since you're mixing singular/plural. To be correct you could have said "I hate when people use they/them because
they're plural and it breaks grammatical syntax."
4) Personally I've never heard "grammatical rules" referred to as "grammatical syntax", at least not in American English, but I understood what you meant so I'll give you a pass on that.
If you want your opinions to be taken seriously, always use proper grammar.
