Why is ww1 so overplayed

Why do people play this shit so much it almost goes the same way every single time

Same reason people play europe+ so much. Best scenario. It's not just by happenstance.

Because it's scripted, apparently people love that. It is heavily scripted, but it is free market, take it or leave it. Next reason is that every game has a favorite aspect. In Atwar, WW1 is favorite map, plays prove it. Third reason is that game is small, and people want to play safe, so they join games they believe it will fill and start fast, thus maintaining WW1 to be king of maps.

well yea but it is so overplayed and nearly the same thing happens everytime i use to like ww1 but since ive played it so much it is boring now

Overplayed doesn't mean it's bad.

Because noob high ranks refuse to play anything but a scripted scenario. Thus non-noob scenario players can't fill any other maps and give up on the idea of hosting anything but ww1. Since other scenarios aren't played, people who make maps give up so there is nothing new to play. Since all other maps are old too, the "overplayed" factor doesn't matter anymore and people at that point just play ww1.

Another big reason is that the community is just so small. Hardly enough people to play other bigger maps or maps that require a lot more effort in learning new stuff for (reason why despite it being by aetius/pyrrhus same as ww1, other maps dont get played as much bc ww1 is easily the lowest skill of all their maps). WW1 is very scripted and it also has a small enough player count, while being a large enough map to be interesting-ish and has small and big factions. So many scenarios tend themselves to every faction being crucial which with the small playerbase here is very hard. WW1 is good in that rom/serb/bulg can be lower ranks and even occassionally some fronts can be lower and it still balance out. The idea that its a lot of 1v1s makes it much easier for a smaller community to play.

If atwar got bigger again and new people or people came back I would suspect other maps could also come back in popularity but right now no.

WW1 is the best scenario to have ever existed on this game, and it not "repetitive." Anyone who claims it is repetitive is either a liar or mentally disturbed, or a combination of both. There are thousands of different strategies readily available to use in WW1, perhaps tens of thousands. I have honed my WW1 skills for years now, I am the best WW1 player alive, no one can really beat me if I am not faced with game-play externalities (I am ddos'd very often because I am good).

Its not balanced, entante wins way more then CP, werent for that it would probably be fine.

CP: gets a shit load of inflation after turn 25

entante: gets a shit load of american reinf probably numbering over 250 until turn 40 or so.

It's braindead and even a noob can keep going until t50 without dying even if his team is doomed, people like comfiness like that, also once people get into WW1 they never get out because they don't like trying new things, seriously the times I've told someone to join a map and they replied with "no, I've never played it" are beyond count, also mob mentality, when people watch WW1 being played they're brainwashed into thinking it's good, also looks, people join it and see the trenches and get an "ooooh shiny" kind of reaction

I haven't been active in like a year. And i don't play any of those maps, I maybe played ancient like 4 years ago... once.
