14.02.2018 - 23:31 Corona De Castilla Corona De Castilla is looking to revive its self from its creation back in 2013. We specifically are still looking for Scenario/Competitive players. Yes, we are somewhat inactive but we are just getting back together and hope to have more members that are active very soon. We have joined The Commonwealth for the greater good of the community as well. Here is a quote from our introduction in our clan description. "Corona De Castilla is one of the oldest clans on AtWar from the creation of Tempteds RP. From it's creation in 2013 to the current day there are still active members and leaders willing to lead this historic clan. However, AtWar isn't how it use to be. It is not growing and new players are being chased off. So, we have joined a movement (The Commonwealth) that aims to repair this. Although we are a part of this, we mainly aim to have a fun time in the game and enjoy it." Post a message below and/or apply to join Corona De Castilla. Updated 2/15/18 ~Salty

I think what he means is that it's one of the oldest coalitions with active members in it / still coming. There arent that many that are still like this or recruiting people still

How are there so many RP clans? Lately I see a lot of these in the forums promoting their clans and expanding the cancer

The community is to small and there eating up all the new players, that's the issue. The rest of the game will die so these casuals can play pretend and it's infuriating. If you where new with zero experience and could either go rp and win with allies and gain good sp, or go get your ass beat by some rank 12 arab talking shit which would you choose? They'll never understand how satisfying it is when you become the player you once feared and you beat the players who used to talk shit. RP sucks them into a hole few people return from. If they really want a good compromise rp should be rank locked to 7+.

Disagree. You can't just lock a genre because of its characteristics just like that. Scenario is dying purely and merely because Scenarioists can't organize or won't, to advertise their genre and descend from their ivory towers of arrogance and help the newbies. Instead you have troll cucks like Nifty or inactivemakers or makers who try and won't get immense feedback as before (yourself in this case) or a clan stuffed with high-rank ignorant by the most part scenarioists led by an arrogant and inneficient boot-licker who sits on the clan's numbers and members to go around playing the good chap card while being useless (The Empire in this case). This is the situation in the Scenario-genre. I am not defending RP or any sort, as I've been away of things done there (Studying Law sucks up the time) but I still keep an eye on it. While people like Martell previously kind of downplayed what they're doing on the comment you quoted, all they're doing is set up clans and re-build existing structures to channel new players that might be interested in the concept of RP and the genre itself (though things could and will be improved as far as I've been told), this is the situation of RP. While one prospers due to the efforts of its unchallenged head-figure, Scenario-genre lacks any organization and coherency. As I've always said, including to you privately, fighting one implies advertising another, there's no need for a lock-area play that will open a dangerous precedent, but rather a will by Scenarioists to actually do something other than delve into repetitive maps all day and call Serbia a cuck for not holding Nis turn 5.

A huge part of RP players exclude other inexperienced players, I know because it has happened to me. Apart from that most of these players do wf in normal games and break some rules, and although you explain them, they will continue to deny that they are breaking the rules,as it has happened to me with many RP players (there are exceptions)

When have I ever not accepted feed back? I completly re-outfitted my game of thrones map to try and cater to a less intelegent user base. My current ancient map iv accepted all criticism and have made many changes based off of that, the last update was a unit over haul because people said the units where not balanced. If anyone is an exception to the status quo of atwar it would be me, I'm not locked to a single genre my only bias is with low ranks because there are far to many alts trolls and casuals to try and filter through to help those who could use some help. Even then I helped many new people over the years. Let me tell you the secret history of atwar gentlemen. Story Time As far as rp goes which would you choose if you where new and had no ties to the community. The more dificult groups with numerous ego problems, who are weary of new players because so many of them are trolls. Or the rp community which doesn't require any skill and there clan leaders build little bubble world's to make themselves seem important and you get to pretend your awesome because your glorious leader sends 8 of you into a single match and you gang bang the other players one by one. So they do that for a while till they get bored so leave right then and there others try and branch out not relising everything they learned in rp is useless in the rest of the game, so three things happen to these players at this point. A) They act out on defiance because they have ego problems and become trolls,so they spend a few weeks switching between trolling peoples games and getting mad that they can't have fun in rp anymore cause it boring. B) They give a good effort at trying new games but never grasp what they need to, to succeed, so because of player group A) the map creators and hosts attack them, degrade them, and ban them till they quite. Then there is player group C) The best case scenario, players like you and martell who managed to gap there previous rp challenges and where able to find a place in the actual community, this player base is by far the smallest, and because of group A) Trolling, and group B) Leaving because of a hostile community, slowly but surly our number dwindle into obscurity. The only easy solution I can come up with is taking rp out of the equation entirely. Before custom maps we had 1 world map and about two dozen scenarios, this forced players from there very beginning to learn the skills required to beat there opponent, then the map editor was released, which created what was known as the atwar golden age. You had a highly skilled player base with a verity of new challenges in the form of custom maps. When UN came along it set the foundation for things to come, you had two players who dictated to the other eighteen, entire clans where built around this because they would have there best players choose un and they would choose large countries and gang bang everyone. This was before the sp multiplier so people where getting 2-5k sp a game for 40 turn games. I played one against the socialist party where there leader got 11k sp after he had his 8 Clan members gang bang me the other UN. Then came rp which basic concept was to make up reasons for war, this created massive clans who would support each others casus belis then gang bang all the other players, this created a false sense of skill because in real matches you need no reason and they get attacked before they can gather there strength and gang bang. So they can't win with how they learn to play which feeds back into either continuing to rp till you get bored and leave or trying to branch out which I previously discussed. That is the history of atwars decline, I was there for it all, and if there are no good solutions you take the ones you got which in this case the fairest thing I can think of is rank restriction. I geuss my rebuttal to what you said is it is not our inability to orginize, or teach, but there inability to learn or even care to try. We exsisted before rp and we did a fine job of teaching new people before rp was ever a thing.

I said immense feedback, and hence why I put you into a different cathegory and didn't label you as a troll cuck or an inactive maker, but one who actually works and doesn't get the necessary immense feedback to keep things flowing, especially because a large sector of Scenarioists have been RP'ified and now prefer the autistic heresy that is WW1, and still consider themselves pros xd (Sorry WW1'ers but if you delve all day into WW1 and think it's awesome then you're as mentally challenged as some RP'ers you criticize, as the repetitiveness in both genres is a thing.
That is indeed the case by some oppositionist clans in RP, where they sector themselves and send in squadrons of players to the same game and rig the game to their favour. This is why me and Alois for instance along with the current mapmaker, Elijah, have banned several members of X and Y clans for rigging games and will continue to do so. I'd also like to put it out there that (and I think you can see in Fappy Youth's description) I allowed wars between clanmates in RP's under certain limits (like don't specifically target clannies, but do war them if necessary for the games survival), and I was the only leader of a RP-directioned clan to ever do that, and that brought my RP and successor maps to have +5 plays per day on average, roughly. You're right though, people prefer an easier athmosphere that can bring them low-effort reward. That's the nature of the human being, but you can't just ban a genre or regulate it heavily to keep another (Scenarios) intact. That cannot work that way. Scenarioists need to organize and favour new people, with mentorship clans and so on, and less arrogance from people who aren't worth a penny at the game quite frankly.
My current map banlist is filled with those and the current RP map has a full index of trolls banned and to be banned when reasons arise. It is also undergoing new innovative forms non-degenerative on RP to also prevent that fall into decay, as far as I'm aware.
People on this game are ill-valued, that's what I've always said..
Me and Martell have very different backgrounds that led to different approaches. From what I've understood, he played RP when a newbie and after losing grip on RP, he decided to be a competitive and try other sections of the game. As some say, an evolved RP player that transitioned to other areas. Mine was different, I detested UN (still do, for all its cancerous and ill-made mechanics) not because of the concept, which I accepted as interesting, but because of the mode of how it was made. I played RP for completely different reasons than Martell I think, I played it purely because of the concept. I've always and still do hate the unit variation that maps have, especially Nukes. I don't need 45 units, 5 types of ships and 6 types of planes and ground units and bunkers to play a RP. I remember back in Tempteds and Adog's RP (despite Adog's troll immigrant unit lol) I was, along with other 3/4 people, the only ones who would actually abide by the concept of the game and roleplay in chat. That's the only thing why I even played it, for the simple concept that is Roleplay, that has been poisoned at different levels throughout the years by the interpretation players made of the mode. Personally speaking (since I cannot speak for Martell on this), I've always been a diverse-mode player, I could very well play RP as I could play Ancient World or Game of Thrones or German Political Unification maps, as my interest is primarily Political Scens if I must say, hence why maybe I'm a minority when it comes to "finding a place" in the community, though people still treat me as a brainless RPfag lmao, which doesn't bother me tbh, because I love them all <3
The AtWar Golden Age was from its pre-custom map era all the way to late 2013/2014 sort of, that I agree
UN was really really cancerous, and came as a bombshell to AtWar, If anything, UN was what sent AtWar into a recession tbh
As I've said, that's the case of some clans, as I've told you before on this post, I've conveyed ever since I launched my map and to all other successors that rigged games by clans would not be allowed and members will be banned, which has happened very recently aswell, hence the latest issued bans from the map
The solution cannot be restraining the other. The solution must be organization and advertisement and non-arrogance and accessibility to the genre of maps you preach. You cannot expect to grow from one's failure. RP has actually brought players to the game in a certain way. If Scenarioists organized, and made an effort to do what's being done in RP, both spectres of AtWar would grow, AtWar would generate more income and the common community would be benefitting from such a convergence of interests. But the inability by some scenarioists or the dis-encouraging of others prevents it all sadly. Scenarioism existed before RP but only prospered from its stagnation and monopoly, if that does not work anymore, it has to be changed.
