Walls

Perhaps the units that are involved in the making of the walls shouldn't break when 1 unit attack them. If the units survived the assault, why do they regroup and dissociate from the wall position?

Why not?
You can make a wall of 100 infantries, add 100 for the other stack and add a general in one of they.
600+600+200=1400 def.

And if you can afford to create units of such massive defense, perhaps you've earned the defense they provide.

How would that be any different from having the units inside the city? Actually, it would be even weaker because inf don't get the +1 city bonus.

Not sure if this idea has been discussed recently... but I would support walls that don't fall apart under failed attacks.

i think it would encourage more creative strategic play with walls, be more realistic, and make a bigger deal out of taking cities.

I support this, it would encourage more tactical gameplay.

only people who who moan at this is players who use a lot of stealth I think. That being said i am one of those people, and relish the challenge it could bring.

Perhaps more realistic gameplay also?
