I'll be having the pleasure to interview one of the administrators, Ivan. I'll be asking him general questions about atWar. If you want to suggest me a question to ask Ivan in the interview then this is your chance. Comment below any appropriate questions you would like me to ask Ivan (relating to atWar please).

Please don't ask anything about the map maker, that's Amok's job, not Ivan's.

When I'm done with the interview you'll be able to view it in The atWar Press' second issue coming out this Sunday.

Are there going to be any updates

What is your feel of the rp community?
Do you think skills are the only thing that can keep atwar alive?

There has been a considerable rise in popularity recently on atwar, A lot of older players have returned and the game has expanded. Now what's next for Atwar? obviously things like Map maker and more reliable servers are key but where do you see atwar heading into the future should you wish it to continue, for example which new features are you keen to add? I know there is something about "buildings" ? being added and some new strategies but past that what are your future goals for the game as a whole.

I remember reading old threads which talked about releasing atWar on Steam and you (or Amok I don't remember) had said you'd like to make that happen someday. Is that going to happen soon? By 'soon' I mean the next 1-2 years since it would need a massive server revamp but I'd love to see a larger playerbase.
Is there a reason you and Amok haven't released it on Steam yet despite the fact it would boost game revenue, which by your own admission is pretty low?

Question: Does he plan to remain active as a administrative member of this game? It is understood he has a life outside atWar but few small updates a month (or even every few months) is much better than none at all.

Whats his thoughts about KingJim? Can kingjim become a mod 1 day in the future?

I find it funny that Trystane is sucking up and asking about adding new features to the game, when the game hardly works the way it is. LOL.

1. Have you ever though about expanding your knowledge in the tools/languages used to make this game?

<<Details of the question, if needed: basically I mean that Ivan could have learned to make the Map Editor by himself as he's a programmer (front end, not sure if back end but my point still applies). Not limited to this though, if Ivan spend time to learn all of the tools/languages used he could also fix the bugs and completely apply maintenance to the game. Saying "I didn't had time" after so much time (More than a year!?) with 95% of the progress done would'be a joke response.>>

2. What are your though about restructuring the hierarchy of powers that the game has?

<<Details of the question, if needed: basically to split some of the responsibilities among the community members. You could have a "header" mod that appoints other mods, the supporter header could use modpowers into the supporters forums to reorganize it more efficiently. There could'be language mods able to edit their respective international forums. ATN & Radio members could have powers to edit their own forum and so on.>>

4. Do admins ever get in touch with the community events?

<<Details of the question, if needed: I've always wondered if admins used to read the ATN articles, PotM/S/Y awards or even the newly started atWar Press. I also wonder if they support community initiatives such as the atWar Recordbook & Hall of fame, atWar Database by Columna, atWar fandom wikia, Croat's Fun Screenshot thread, have they ever looked at the Encyclopedia Dramatica (if they haven't looked at this one then they'd better not) and so on.>>

5. The current game's FAQ is pretty outdated. Knowing that you guys don't have time to update it, is there any chances that you let someone else do it?

<<Details of the question, if needed: This really worries me a lot. It's true that the forums is filled up with updated and pretty helpful guides. However the FAQ is usually viewed as the main source of knowledge about the game. Some knowledge there is outdated and it even skip important subjects( such as the defensive lines) or simply doesn't speaks enough about some subjects (the battle mechanics).>>

6. As you may know, the biggest part of the coalition wars, a considerable part of the duels and other forms of competition takes place in the Europe+ preset of the default map (plus,which includes Europe and some zones of Russia and Caucasus). There are also rumors of admins flavoring this particular preset over the other zones of the map or even over the custom maps and scenarios. What are your views about the Eu+ preset, and how true are theses rumors?

<<Details of the question, if needed: Particularly I've hear that both admins spend their time balancing this particular area of the map, removing and adding cities around the 3k and 5k settings that were popular back then. It has also been said that all the strategies and units are balanced based on their performance in this preset. >>


7. Quite a long question: what are your views about the game's strategy and units balance?

<<Details of the question, if needed: as one of the top criticizers of the changes that have been happening over the years, I do seriously question what do you guys base to make theses changes. Taking up the latest changes for example, they were pretty impopular (like perhaps any change since tophat's era), pretty weak-logic based and on the top of that, you seemed to base theses changes into a single person's opinion. They also doesn't suit your "good case scenario" as it pretty much made a lot of person angry over a single person happy.

I do also wonder if you guys incorporate the posible effect over the custom maps / scenarios that the changes could have. Particularly the NC destroyer capacity ruined a pretty large number of scenarios once it was implemented.

Lastly, many strategies have long though to be balanced and remained unaltered over the years. That's the case of the Sky Menace strategy that received an update recently. The same guy who PM'ed you with theses changes had also said previously that the strategies needs to be changed periodically rather than to keep them intact until they're considered unbalanced. I wonder if you guys agrees with his views and plan to change the strategies just to "change the dynamics" or eventually plan to balance all the current strategies and focus on adding new ones?>>

To save time. I explained why you shouldn't ask him about the map editor, because it's not his job to do it.

How much time he can spend on game, is it fun to him anymore,does he and Amok plan to sell it, get more members, why Sun Tze is only active member of staff team

Could you ask him why he created such a gay game? I mean why cant there be just dark grays and blacks instead of being able to pick any color of the fucking rainbow...
