Why Do You Play Afterwind?

I was having an argument with another player about the importance of sp. After rejecting my claim that Afterwind is simply a game and therefore about fun, he explained that the only reason he plays Afterwind is because of sp.

So 2 questions.

Would you play Afterwind if there was no sp in the game? Why or why not?
Also, Why exactly do you play Afterwind?

Lastly, I'm not claiming that sp is unimportant, only that it's not the reason for me playing.

I like sp just due to the feeling of working to achieve something (also the fact they give upgrades which improve gameplay by a lot)

and I play AW for fun/internet friends

I would keep on playing without the SP system, but probably lesser than today. Ranking, achievements and upgrades is what make players keep on playing after a time, in my opinion. It's hard to find a game without it that can keep a good amount of players for a long time.

Also, Why exactly do you play Afterwind?
I started because I was playing with my real friends and with the time I made others in-game too. I like the fact that Afterwind is simple, but still has an infinity of possibilities in each game. Also, I like to have conversations with other players, despite some exceptions I find Afterwind community a better and smarter than most of other games I've played.

Yes, because I love Afterwind for the fact Ive met alot of freinds on here and everyone seems to be a lot smarter than other communitys.

Ironail just has most rep, but everyone know that isn't worth anything.

zizou is an honorable (never latejoins) and active member of our community(very forum active and talks all the time on the game itself). As for SP, the rankings say enough - Zizou is the best in this game and no one NO ONE is going to beat him.

I play AW to have fun but without the sp i wouldnt play anywhere near as much as i do now. the sp is what determines the ranks and ranking up is what most people play for

I would play AW if there was no SP, because I actually get an endorphin kick from eliminating Rome on week 5 as Carthage on that brilliant Classical Antiquity map.

For the first question,i think i copy NCM-Tos's answer pretty much,i love how it makes my brain go like BOOM!QUICK!THINK!ACT! and it's quite fun
and for the second question,i think SP is an important,but dispensable part of the game...like it'd be hard to tell how good a player is without the ranks,which come from SP,but it'd be ok not to know it and it is replace-able by a 'join date' thingy on each of us' profiles or something like that...

Ironail is a no-lifer that only plays this game. I would be the better player if I played this game like him. But I don't I have a personal life and fuck life. Something you guys don't. HAHHAHA FAGGOTS.

also could learn history. like how Belgium had congo, i cant find it anywhere in an american textbook.

I like the fact that it's like RISK, except i don't have to deal with my sister who hates the game and sucks, and my brother who always kicks over my bowl of snacks.

I don't play only because of SP, but i play more because of it.

I used to play warlight if anyone knows what it is, and there's no SP there.
