Hello, I am currently wondering why the hell people actually still stick to this game? (Including me). I mean this game has serious problems and I honestly have no idea what the people are doing to actually fix those problems? You guys can shout all you want that this game wont grow because of the less people and doing all you can. Let me tell you something about that. We have currently around 200 people online at its highest peak a day. freaking 200 people... and even those 200 cant be controlled by 3 admins? (honestly Sun doesn't really count into game admin but more of an advertising admin, so 2 admins) and how many mods? You want this game to grow, yet the most important thing and actually the thing that is holding this all together is having humangous problems and I think alot of people are starting to get tired of the absence of those who can fix all of this. I mean, I dont know if you people actually understand how annoying and unsatisfying it is for the people to play in a server like this where you need to take in mind every fucking turn 'what if the server disconnects/crashes'. Let me sum you up what exactly happends when people think that. - Turns getting rushed, which leads to an uglier and less inconsistent gameplay. Its just unsatisfying to play or to watch. - Games fail. - People don't hold anymore in CW's because they dont want anyone to suddenly disconnect and remake all over again - People end their turn in the middle of the turn so they can save their moves if the game dc's, not to mention forgetting to save everytime you make a move... - People play less turn based games, because people want to do their games as fast as possible, scared for the disconnection passing by any moment. - People lose their interest in remaking a game they hosted for 5 times now because of the disconnects. People go offline, perhaps stop the game because its not a simple game anymore and just don't like it as a whole anymore. We are charged for things we didn't ask for, things we didnt want and things we certainly dont need. And I may sound unthankful, disrespectful or even like a whine ass, but seriously its time that you take control of this game, how it should be. I feel like (my own opinion) we aren't listened too in any kind of way, I feel like we are getting ignored, problems are getting put in the silentbox and people are even getting punished for standing up for all these flaws. Not to even mention the amount delay of the map editor version. It is seriously getting a hold of this game and I think it might even cost us all the game if this last like this for to long. If you cant handle it, atleast say it so we know what's upp and we can help you. Because honestly it seems like you guys could use some help. And this was mostly about the server disconnections, there are still way way way way to much things that need to be fixed. Lets atleast start with the most important one? #SaveAtwar Thanks.

Ordinarily I would be shaking my head at this post, but today after dc-ing 9 times and having to reload after getting the "Connection lost. Reload?/Go to lobby option" while watching a cw (SM v EC) I changed my opinion. I bought premium for map editor but tbh I've lost interest in it now. GG. But please FFS do something about the disconnections.... EDIT: I forgot to mention that the 9 dc's all happened between turns 1 and 5

Ye, Amok clearly doesn't care (inb4 he comes after 3 weeks talking about all he does here). At least address the problem and admit you were wrong. This game is experiencing growth, sure, but how many of those new players want to stay in a community where the players are dickheads and the admins don't care.

One thing that annoys me the most is you'll do many moves in a turn and then it will say "failed to ping server" but then it will say "attempting to reconnect, resuming game" so you think everything is all good and you end your turn.... only to find out next turn that it cancelled everything. This happens every game I play too.

Just sayin' all of the old mapmakers have given up on making maps except Aetius and Pyrrhus who do so at a way lower frequency and no new mapmakers are emerging. I know most people in forums don't care about maps/scenarios but half if not more of the game's revenue comes from people who play them. PS: wondering how come no one has taken admins' side yet

Amok doesn't care. They see this game as a source of easy cash, admins are lazy as fuck. People only come back because they like to talk to the friends they have here or want to spice up their life with a little drama, the game itself gets boring after rank5

If admins really were interested in making this game huge, they would have already done that and this game would number over 5k active people in a moment.... They just don't care and don't see a potential in this game. I mean, lifetime premium costs 40$, like one of biggest games in the world.... (SimCity, GTA......) And they don't even care to solve main problems of the game....

that is the point of having such a high price, they don't want you to buy life time. They want you to instead buy the subscription every month, which is why they removed the option to buy packages.

If you read one of my last sentences, I said I was mostly talking about the disconnections.. And the game really crashes enough in a month than most games do in a whole year... and those games have millions of people playing it from everywhere around the world.

Because this game is amazing. Admins have made a gem, but unfortunately it is polluted by the server issues and hostile community on-forum and in-game. I disagree with people saying admins don't care, because they do, if they didn't they wouldn't undertake converting it to HTML5 so the game doesn't die with SL. However I agree with you Waffel, a few extra hands would do wonders. What we always needed is two things: - someone to transfer the community's wishes backstage; a hands-on admin. Now we got that, he's called Sun Tzu. -someone to help the admins with the heavy lifting: coding. Not just some players who knows a thing or two about computers, but an actual hired professional who does it for the prospect of the game rather than the income. We're at 1/2 right now, halfway there, don't expect this to happen soon, but I'm sure the admins realize that AW got bigger than two brothers' fun project. This is a game with serious potential, and that means an extra set of hired hands will be lucrative in the long run.

They can't afford it and they just don't have the time or whatever is happening to do it themselves, it's a dead end street. That's why the best solution might be selling the game to someone else. I hope their actually making up their mind about what are they gonna do with this game, continuing like this will not benefit anyone.

There are many different routes that can be taken, not necessarily leading to the sale of the game. Fully, at least. For example: A hired coder that isn't doing it mainly for the money can get a humble wage and 5-15% of AW 'shares' or whatever. That way, when the game grows -with his assistance- the coder makes more money. Or perhaps agree to a fee of x once the game reaches x value or has x players, that way they pay him, but just when they have the money. Look, I'm not a finance expert or whatever, and what I'm proposing may also have difficulties, but there are alternative solutions to selling off the game or letting it to die.

Ofcourse you would.... you're a mod, its your job to do that.... Your job which you do for free so that Amok and ivan dont have to... so they can be offline 99% of the time crying about how they have RL's and that they come before AW and how the map editor is "coming" "99% done" this whole game was their little cash generating experiment, they put it on their cv's and it helped them get nice jobs and a little extra cash now they think its worjth $100,000 cause they spend all that money on pot and think too highly of themselves and their time. GG
