I thought this was bs until I noticed in my last duels against Acqui (about 10 times) I only had first pick once/twice. It is frustrating to keep losing due to op picks

Bump.Guys please try to give it a look and fix this.

Ya i get first pick like 80% of the time now. Not saying its bad (for me), but random is better.

Edit:Thing is when I connect first or second,the picks get shuffled and I get the last pick,and when I connect last the picks don't get shuffled and I get the last pick.Fix it.

I'm not sure if i'm correct. I always thought it was the one with the better connectionspeed that got first pick. A while ago i played a few 1v1 matches against a friend of mine, and i always got first pick. But when i started to download something at full-speed; and started the match at that point; he got the first pick.
Maybe thats because one of us joined the game after the 'randomness element' starts to work?

Here's the way it works now:
1. Players join the newly created game in the lobby
2. Game is launched
3. A timer kicks in waiting for all the original players to load & connect (60 sec timeout)
4. If some of the original players have not managed to connect in time (60 sec), they are then not automatically joined and need to press the 'Join' button, which adds them to the end of the queue.
5. After all the original players connected or when the timer (see p.3) runs out, all the currently connected players are then shuffled and the picking begins in the randomized order.

i know this is boarderline harassment lol, but this is too important an issue for gameplay, the picking order is fucked atm. its not random. a few quick tests with a group of players will show you this.

please please please look into it.

That's how it used to be before the change

I always pick last now. In any game always pick last... my internet speed and pings are great and this was always so. My pick order used to be random, but since last update I always pick last, even during big games that have 20 players I pick last.

I even tried to slow my internet connection intentionally by simultaneously playing 10 youtube 720p videos. It had no effect except confusing sounds that distracted me during gameplay...

I'm sick of playing France, Spain and Italy in cws also...

well at least I'm playing those countries a bit better now...

yesterday after about 20-30 cws of last pick,i got middle pick!I dont know if you already did something or it just hapened, but it gave me a huge pretty smile

ty amok, the problem may not be within the algorithm though, rather in the connection window of 60 secs before players are shuffled. whatever it is, the problem definitely exists. i am almost always last pick. and when i say almost, i'm sometimes 2nd last . i believe in coincidences up to a certain point. but that other players are getting this issue shows its there.

only a month or so ago i was almost always first.

yeah and in the cws of illyria vs mk for example,slowind and acqui are always first and me and lao always last,lol

Played 6 games yesterday (4 3v3 and 2 1v1) and I picked last every time.

Perhaps this might help. I'm using standalone version of the game simply because I like to have full screen and be able to chat. I don't know if standalone version is fully supported these days since the buttons for messages and notifications are gone.

Played a cw yesterday with illyria, we started picking, but something happened and we remade.EXACTLY same people, same process and exactly same order of picks.This is more than evidence that picks are not random.

Im using browser game so i dont know if that matters Gabi..

Have you tested team games, because all the problems we as a community have noted have been in 3v3's whereas no one has encountered a problem with lack of randomness in non-team games?

this appears to be the case, in duels the first pick appears to be random, whereas in teamgames and cws i am nearly always last or second last. whatever it is thats prioritising picks leaves me witha low priority. whereas khalessi for example, is always a lower priority pick than me.
