ATN CW Report : evoL v. Syndicate

Greetings readers,

Thanks to the incredible feedback in the last CW Report I've decided to try something new! I'll have two different players give their take, and their own ratings on the CW. This is just a test and it won't be the same in the next article so if you don't like it don't worry! I'll be trying different things in future articles. Thanks.

Turn 1: AlexMeza - Apparently, Syndicate had better picks; Germany and UK, compared to Spain and Italy.
Turn 1: Bullet - I'd say Syndicate has the advantage here, but who knows what could happen!



Turn 2: AlexMeza - Looks like Turkey made a secure expansion, Austria got walled by Germany, Italy's lack of wallfuck probably made him lose power in balkans. UK seems to play a little secure and walled France.
Turn 2: Bullet - Nothing new, although I do like what UK is doing! Should be an interesting battle in east.



Turn 3: AlexMeza - UK lost battle in France, by a few units. That made him lose a few units, and give some advantage to Spain. Surprisingly, Germany and Italy walls were not broke yet.
Turn 3: Bullet - Spain takes France, Evol should be getting some cash now. Berlin and Rome still walled though. Kiev and Ankara stacked, don't think any one planning on rushing.



Turn 4: AlexMeza - Turkey failed in his attempt to wall Kiev, Ukraine should start pushing into Turkey's land. Spain is dominating against UK. Italy wall is still not broken, we can't tell if Germany forgot to, or got turnblocked. At this point, evoL seems to be winning with some advantage.
Turn 4: Bullet - Both Spain and England barely have anymore units, I think one of them will get capped soon.



Turn 5: AlexMeza - Tables have turned, Germany took away France and Hungary. Turkey took Belarus and is also doing a good job pushing Ukraine. We could tell, that Syndicate has a bigger chance of winning by now.
Turn 5: Bullet - Germany doing some risky moves! Ukraine seems to out count Turkey.



Turn 7: AlexMeza - Interesting turn for evoL, who now has took balkans, Belarus and Poland, and UK got capped by Spain. Ukraine seems to be pushed hard, and therefore all he can do is hold his cap.
Turn 7: Bullet - UK has been capped by Spain! Italy has arrived to Poland! Spart loses his general in Hungary though I think Spain will be capped this turn though.



Turn 10: AlexMeza - Skipping to last turn; Germany capped Spain, and UK recapped with Germany's help. Turkey pushed very well to Ukraine, but he got capped by surprise and now evoL decides to give up; West seems to be owned by Syndicate and East has no enough power to match it.
Turn 10: Bullet - Turkey and Ukraine have both lost, Ukraine hasn't lost yet, but he's about to. Spain has lost. Italy's a lone survivor. He surrenders/leaves and Syndicate comes out victorious! Congratulations to Syndicate. Was a great game to watch!

Match rating - 7/10 - We all agreed on this rating.

Overall player ratings - AlexMeza:
Syndispart - 8/10 - Made the comeback for Syndicate, helped in West and pushed into balkans.
LucasFTM - 7/10 - Didn't push enough against Spain.
egg123 - 8/10 - Didn't do it well on holding at east, but he capped Turkey in the right moment.
Mr_Own_U - 9/10 - Excellent job at his fight in east. Though, he got capped and lost his chance of putting a fight to West.
Marksman Nick - 8/10 - Took France away from UK and capped him.
Nero - 6/10 - Loser of the match, could have done it better in his fight in balkans, and also could have capped Germany easily.

Bullet:
Spart, man of the match - 10/10 - Did a great job with pressuring Italy at the end, and good job taking Spain out.
Nero, loser of the match - 5/10 - He did a horrible job pressuring Germany, barely walled anything other than Italy, didn't break walls.

Now on to the interviews! (had to cut short due to lag during the interviews!(atWar servers))

[pr] Madara: egg123: Great! So, what do you want to tell us about your UKR preformance that game? How do you think you did?
[pr] egg123: i didnt play that well i lost poland belarus and russia south i had a big stack in my cap and mou taught i would stay there so i capped him and in the end won by 7 ats and a gen
[pr] Madara: egg123: Yet you still came out ontop. Do you think there was a mistake made by Turkey? Or pherhaps you made the right call at the right time?
[pr] egg123: he expanded too far he had a stack of 20 in czech i think when i capped him
[pr] Madara: egg123: I see. What do you think of the enemy? How did they play?
[pr] egg123: there picks were not the best so mou didnt get funded at all i think and he played good just expannded to far
[pr] Madara: egg123: Is there anything you'd like to say to everyone before we depart?

Now to our man of the match!:
[pr] Madara: ~Syndispart: Greetings, may I interview you?
[pr] ~Syndispart: Of course.
[pr] Madara: ~Syndispart: Great! To begin with, did Syndicate go into that CW with a plan in mind?
[pr] ~Syndispart: Yes and no. We had the beginning of the game planned out, but after that, we planned as we went along.
[pr] Madara: ~Syndispart: How did your team end up Germany/UK/Ukraine combo? Was there maybe an unfair advantage there?
[pr] Madara: ~Syndispart: Maybe someone missed their turn to pick?
[pr] ~Syndispart: No, not at all. They picked Spain first, egg picked Ukraine, and then Nero picked Italy. I followed by picking Germany, MOU Turkey and Lucas UK.
[pr] ~Syndispart: Alright, I suppose. I messed up my opening first turn. Had a brain fart and thought UK was going Norway and remember he was on my team, and I ended up range failing it so had to change my
[pr] ~Syndispart: opening around a bit.
[pr] Madara: ~Syndispart: Might I ask what strategy you were playing? I heard you were Blitz!
[pr] ~Syndispart: That was actually far from the truth. I was actually playing PD as much as it pains me to admit it. Just played it in a way to trick Nero and the others into thinking I was so they would
[pr] ~Syndispart: rush my stacks and waste units.

Nice CW report It was pretty fun seeing all the outbursts on global too, but I missed the CW so it was good to see it here!

I love the article, but I think the loser section could do with some toning down.
It's not like I'm a sensitive politically correct baby but I mean... no need to bash someone xD He's a very good player, probs just wasn't his day today.

Nero was Iron Fist which is why he was not walling in the Balkans. He did not want to waste infantry. Noticed that was one of the big criticisms, so I just wish that had been pointed out to the players who are not experienced enough to figure that out for themselves. I don't mind a Loser of the Match(even if it is me like it has been in the past), but I just think the loser should perhaps have an interview to be included in the article so that they have some sort of rebuttal?

IF Italy O_o
I put him as loser of the match because he did not defend balkans (lol he let you take serbia hungary, WITH YOUR GEN!) and because he could have taken austria, czech, poland or countries like that. PD ATs are stronk. People HAVE to understand, that IF is a bad strategy. The +2 HP is like a +2 att/def, but its movement is too bad. It is only good for being a fgt and rushing, it gets a 1:1 ratio against non-buffed infantries. Yes, infantries vs infantries.

@Alex IF is almost or more ( not sure) PD power and attacking its tanks are almost or more RA power. The +2 HP is extremely powerful. The way to balance it is the range nerf and it not getting a cost boost unlike PD RA etc. That is a pretty fair trade imo. Yes it can go 1:1 inf:neutral militia and in big numbers it wont fail (4+). Of course playing IF is personal preference im just stating it isnt a bad strategy.

Spart, +1HP is almost the same as +1att/def. Therefore, it is like PD's defence. Id say it's even a bit better. It is not neutral militia, I'm talking about inf vs inf, IF vs SM for example. But the range nerf is just too bad, you won't be able to expand as you need, and when you do, sometimes it's hard to "connect" or move stacks to defend stuff. I mean, for example if you go Ukraine, you'll probably have no range to defend your cap with what you need. I find it a good trade too, but only good for rushes. With turkey, if you do 80 units then it's a gg for ukraine, even if it's PD. Same goes for UK against germany. IF italy is one of the worst combos you can have for Italy. Best for Italy are PD and LB. LB stronkkkkkk

Thats me btw but quote fail :p . I was pointing out it isnt a bad strat in general, not IF Italy. Like i said its personal preference about the range nerf.
