How to win: Reach 1800 Lifetime ELO before anyone else.

I dont think this is possible atm. Well at least it is extremely difficult. You'll need a high winrate vs the top players of this game which are all currently around the 1600s.The elo pool isnt as large as it was when chess/mecoy hit their peaks a year ago.

The reason? Chill. When that bug set his elo to 0, he ripped 900 elo from the pool to get to where he is now. Thats huge and set the duel scene back over a year.

Might as well just PayPal that money to Eagle now

there has been so much cancer in dueling up to this point already with things like ds and lb. if you guys really want to making dueling active just reset it like every 6 or 12 months instead of doing garbage like this.

We could race to 1600 Seasonal ELO, but everybody's too far away and the season already started & has some months. Maybe next season!

I don't think this is a good idea. We had incidents of ELO boosting/donating before like TENGRI giving ELO to 4nic in order for him to get #1 in seasonal. 4nic had it's unfairly gained ELO substracted and was stripped of his trophy. Then we had huarck duel Froyer roughly 12/25 in his last duels when he hit ELO peak. Strangely enough he won all 12 of these duels. Later it turned out he was using Gust accounts to duel and then dueled Gust account with his main to push his elo further. He also had elo substracted.

You would constantly have to monitor duels to make this competition fair. Moderators would need to put in extra work.

There was a bug where a handful of player's elos were set to zero. Most got it fixed. Chill didn't and won the elo back instead. Leeched a chunk of elo from the pool in the past year or so.

This would make sense if we combine it with anti-farming incentives that time has taught us are necessary.

Such as:
- No duelling before rank 6
- separated Elo scores for Europe/Europe+ (1st score) and all other maps (2nd score)
- no duels between 6,7,8 (range 1) and >9 (range 2)
- no duels outside the range of own Elo +/- 10% (e.g. 1200 player can't duel <1080 for Elo anymore etc.) Maybe 15% for higher ratings.

Also:
- a trophy on every duelists profile showing their legacy Elo (score at the moment)

Even better would be a rating system which includes a ranking-uncertainty score for inactive players like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glicko_rating_system.

1. Agreed. Duels are meant for more expert players.
2. Not completely sure that's totally logic. A dueler is supposed to be skilled enough for any map, right?
3. Sure, makes perfect sense.
4. It could work. However it would make it hard for super high elo to find a duel in such little community as ours.

Also, as Chess said... there's probably gonna be necessary some monitoring, just in case... anyway, I'm not sure everyone would agree on reseting their elo haha

PS: had never heard of that system, sounds cool although not sure if we need such complexity

I agree, we should completely remove regular ELO and only have seasonal. It's dumb but it really would make more people duel as I've seen countless people get to that elo peak and they stop dueling.

I can name 40 players by name who are sitting on 1400-1500-1600 elo like fucking eggs, it is mindblowing there isnt a system in place, maybe eagle can help develop something, him being the most active, best dueler.

I agree that only seasonal elo should exist. Elo should also degrade or something to prevent camping. For people worried about their legacy or whatever we have trophies for a reason.

No. But there should be a decay factor added to the formula which continually reduces Elo if the player is not actively duelling.
