What is that, defeat?

Since this is the second time this has happened to me, I have a question. I pass a move, wait for my opponent to pass his move, you only see when logging in that the time for his move is running out and suddenly I lost the game.

Is this a known bug or what's the point? If I click on "quit game" or "surrender" the game is immediately over for me. So I don't think it's my fault.
